Abstract: (To be provided by the speaker)

SEKEM is an Egyptian initiative originated from the idea by Dr. Ibrahim Abouleish to green the desert by way of biodynamic agricultural methods. It was founded in 1977 with the vision of sustainable development, aiming to develop the individual, society and the environment through a holistic approach. SEKEM, today, is an umbrella of Heliopolis university, SEKEM development foundations, partner NGOs, an agro-economic group of companies, and other relevant institutions. Economy of Love, one of the relevant NGOs under the SEKEM initiative that I am working for, enhances social transition towards sustainable development by encouraging farmers to adopt biodynamic and organic farming methods with its rewarding system for their efforts and by encouraging consumers to become more aware of where their food comes from.
