These programs — short-term and long-term programs— are designed to enable Japanese researchers to invite their foreign colleagues to Japan to participate in cooperative work and other academic activities.
Long-term: this program is intended for inviting overseas researchers to collaborate with Japanese colleagues in carrying out research through long-term visits (2-10 months).
Short-term: this program is intended for inviting overseas researchers for short-term visits (14-60 days) to Japan and providing them opportunities for discussions, exchanges of opinion, lectures and other activities.
